Iconic Country Pub Tour North Auckland

Looking for a delightful tour that will take you to some of the oldest and most iconic establishments in Auckland? Look no further!

Our lovely tour will meander its way up to Puhoi Pub, built in 1879 and located in the quaint village of Puhoi. This old girl has long been a favorite spot for Aucklanders to enjoy a beer and a burger or fish and chips. The bar features a lovely outdoor area and a cozy fireplace inside, with plenty of memorabilia to peruse. Our second stop will be The Northcote, the first hotel on this site was built in the late 1850s by Philip Callan, a innovative Irishman who also built the wharf at the end of the road. Men would travel by horseback from farms in Albany to fetch supplies from the city and stay the night at The Northcote before returning the next day. The hotel survived until 1959, when the opening of the Harbour Bridge put an end to this business, and a fire destroyed it beyond repair. A new hotel was built in 1884 and the structure has remained almost unchanged since then. Current owners Billy and Kim Milne have been running the hotel for 25 years, and have created a cozy celtic atmosphere with tartan carpets and family shields. Don’t forget to look for your name! The pub also features a great outdoor area and delicious food from another Auckland icon, the White Lady.

Remember, all of our buses have a fully licensed bar on board, so there’s no need to bring your own drinks. However, feel free to bring extra food and birthday cakes to make your tour even more special.
